Sudbury Potholes was created by a local software developer ( Eric Robitaille ) as a solution to the deteriorating road infrastructure we are witnessing in many cities in Ontario including the Greater City of Sudbury.
The concept was to create a website that enables the public to mark potholes around the city by adding them to an online map which uses Google Maps Technology. Each pothole marker includes the ability to have an image, rating and comments.
Our goal is to create an online pothole management system by partnering with the city in order to ensure that city staff have all the information they need to meet residents expectations for pothole repairs. By creating a system of transparency in road repair and pothole management along with the increased knowledge of exact locations along with statistics, the end result is that the city will have a more robust road management system. The residents in turn can be rest assured that the trouble potholes are fixed saving them countless dollars in vehicle repairs.
